CHICAGO WAREHOUSE

PROJECT NAME:

Chicago Warehouse

APPROX SIZE:

46,000 Sq Ft

PROJECT DETAILS:

This was an interesting project. Originally built as a supermarket 30 years ago, the building had many uses and lastly was a school with separate classrooms. The original floor was Terrazzo so they installed walls to make classrooms then poured into each classroom a cementitious slurry over the Terrazzo. They then proceeded to put tile and carpet down. We needed to repair cementitious surface and fill in depression where walls once were. The new use of the building is the warehouse so all of the quarter inch recesses where the walls were needed to be repaired, and then the floor needed to be polished to an 800 grit shine.

First we had to prep the Terrazzo so that the patching material would adhere to it. This meant hand grinding every recess where the walls had been. Then patching materials used to make repairs. Then polished.
